Marco Larobina
Mr. Marco Larobina is a consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon based at the Royal Melbourne and Epworth Hospitals in Melbourne.
In addition to his significant clinical interest in thoracic oncology and minimally invasive thoracic surgery, Mr Larobina has a unique and innovative cardiac surgical practice.
He has established multiple surgical programs at the Royal Melbourne hospital, including a dedicated Thoracic Aortic Surgical service, a Transcatheter valve program and a probono surgical program in conjunction with the East Timor Hearts Fund charity, which provides advanced surgical care to young adults from East Timor with a mixture of acquired and congenital heart disease. Additionally he specializes in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, and complex cardiac valve surgery including the Ross operation.
It is with this background that Mr Larobina, in conjunction with the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre Neuroendocrine Tumour service, formulated an interest and significant practice in the complex area of patients with Carcinoid Heart Disease.
Mr Larobina obtained his FRACS in 2008, following training at the Alfred, Royal Melbourne and Royal Children’s hospitals in Melbourne. He subsequently undertook fellowships at Papworth Hospital, Cambridge UK and Massachusetts General Hospital Boston USA.
